New cameras went up by Bournemouth pier. Soon after, Cameron Hamilton was fatally stabbed. The footage helped secure a conviction quickly. The council also added cameras to bus shelters, and more cameras went into Bournemouth town centre.

Sajic says CCTV makes people feel safer. Staff only focus on someone with good reason. CCTV helps find missing people, and it helps police officers too. Sajic states CCTV helps, but isn’t a full replacement.
