A speed camera on the A134 in Thetford caught over 4,000 drivers speeding in 2024. Concerns raised near schools.

The A134 in Thetford had the most, with over 4,000 drivers speeding there, where the limit was 30 mph. Isn’t that wild?
Terry Jermy is a local MP and he is worried about the speeding, which is happening near schools, including the Bury Road.
They are trying to slow drivers down, and the council plans to install new safety measures, some of which are already working. Good news for everyone, right?
Another camera got many drivers on Dereham Road in Norwich, catching almost 1,800 people breaking the law, while Mile End Road was another big one.
What happens to these drivers? Many take speed awareness courses, others just pay a fine, and some even face prosecution in court. Imagine that.
Most of the speeders broke the 30-mph limit, accounting for more than 60% of all offenses, which happened to over 41,000 drivers. That’s super common, apparently.
Police are watching closely and they regularly check drivers’ speed, focusing on dangerous locations and spots with past crashes, which also receive attention.
