National Highways will do road work. They plan to work for four nights. This work includes surveys and upkeep.

From Monday to Thursday, work happens from 8 PM to 6 AM. Contractors will work during those hours. On Monday and Tuesday nights, the westbound lanes close. This closure is between Seven Hills and Wherstead.
If the westbound lanes close, use this route. Exit A14 at junction 58.

Drive on A12 until A1214. Then, go west on A1214. Rejoin A14 at junction 55. A work crew also blocks one eastbound lane. This happens the same time as the westbound work.

On Wednesday and Thursday, one lane will be closed. This affects both directions of traffic. These lane closures span Nacton to Wherstead. All lanes open during the day. The road crews only work at night.

The agency knows this affects drivers. But, this work keeps the bridge safe. It also keeps the bridge in good order.

Another A14 section closes at the same time. This is between Copdock and Claydon. Eastbound lanes close for the week. The closure lasts from March 10 to March 14. The hours for the closure are 8 PM to 6 AM.

During this work, follow a detour. Exit at junction 52. At the roundabout, take the fourth exit. Go onto Bramford Road. Keep going on B1113. It goes through Bramford and Sproughton.

At Swan Hill roundabout, take the first exit. Turn onto A1071. Then, turn right at the lights. Use London Road, or A1214. At the next roundabout, stay on A1214. At Copdock, take the first exit. Rejoin the A14 east at junction 55.
