They will finish roundabout updates soon. The highway people said work should wrap up in weeks. It’s the Greencell roundabout in Lincolnshire. They want it done by late March. This helps ease traffic on the A16.

They widened the roundabout for ten months. It cost £20 million from a grant. Now, there are two wider lanes. They are also fixing the A16 road surface. Bridge joints will be replaced, too.

Richard Davies seems happy about the progress. He said they are almost done. The end is near. The roundabout should fully reopen in four weeks. That depends on the weather, of course.

The project improved more than just the roundabout. They rebuilt part of the A16. Plus, they fixed the bridge over Vernatt’s Drain. They also cleared blocked drains nearby. Doing more now prevents future problems.

The roundabout work cost about £6.6 million. It’s part of a larger A16 improvement plan. Workers put in over 36,000 hours on this. New curbs and drainage are also included. A new road link is being made, too.

A new road will link Holbeach to the car park. This stretch is 240 meters long. The link will cost £288,000 altogether. They are raising the kerbs near McDonald’s. They are adding double yellow lines for parking.

Pedals group members are actually upset. They wanted better pedestrian crossings here. They suggest a footbridge or signaled crossings. A safety audit did not include these changes. They feel this is an important safety matter.
