Hey, they’re fixing the A16 between Cowbit and Crowland. It’s a three-mile section, quite broken down. Lincolnshire County Council plans to reconstruct it next month. They will close the road at night while working.

Expect two different detours due to the work. Journeys may take an extra forty minutes. This is because of night closures at Pinchbeck too. The project should start next month between Cowbit and Crowland.

Richard Davies discussed the road condition. He noted it’s falling apart. So, they decided to repair the road quickly. This project costs £2.3 million. The A16 is a very busy road.

Work happens at night to reduce inconvenience. The A16 link cost £80 million back in 2010. Officials said underfunding and geology caused issues. Now, the road has dips and potholes.

The A16 work starts March 17 and ends in June. Weather could change this schedule. They’ll work between two roundabouts in Cowbit and Crowland. This includes the Tulip Queen area.

Roads close weeknights from 7 PM to 6 AM. The project has two parts. They’ll post dates for each part on road signs. Detour routes use the A1175 and A15 to Peterborough.

Pinchbeck Roundabout work also closes the A16. This closure exists between Ten Acre Lane and Springfields Roundabout. It lasts until late March. Closures run from 8 PM to 6 AM here.

Davies advised planning trips carefully. Boston to Peterborough trips face two detours. These are for the Cowbit and Pinchbeck A16 works. This adds about forty minutes to travel time.
