The popular cafe reopens with new owner and look after a major renovation following hygiene closure.

The cafe closed in November 2023. Health inspectors found rat droppings then, leading to a zero-star food hygiene score. The prior owner promised better standards after one star.
Now, Ozcan Yalcin owns the A20 Cafe. He has totally changed it inside and out. He told KentOnline everything is brand new, including new cladding in the kitchen and brand new fittings.
They added vegan and gluten-free choices, and the old blue and white theme is gone. It’s a fresh start now, although Yalcin wanted to open sooner, fittings delayed project.
He said it was hard work to remodel. The tables are smooth, and he removed all problems from before. The cafe opens 7 AM to 3 PM every day.
The old rating hurt Yalcin’s A20 Grill, a food truck in the parking lot. It seats 75 now, up from 64 before. The parking lot is newly paved and fits 20 cars or more.
He said people linked his van to cafe issues and believes they will get a five-star rating. The potholes are gone, and they fixed the building front.
The menu has classic food like breakfasts, sandwiches, wraps, and paninis. Vegan and gluten-free options are also available. The A20 Grill is open Thursday to Sunday nights.
Yalcin said people kept asking about opening. It took a while, but they are now ready, and he thinks people will like it.
