The A3066 Beaminster Tunnel will close for up to five days starting February 17 for carriageway maintence.

The closure starts Monday, February 17 and could last up to five days. The council expects completion by Friday, February 21. They are doing road work, called “carriageway maintenance.”
The closure keeps workers and drivers safe. It follows health and safety rules.
Going north from Beaminster? You’ll go via Bridport and Dorchester. Then, you’ll cut back to Misterton through Maiden Newton. The council will post signs for the detour route.
Drivers can easily navigate around the closed section. The tunnel closed in January 2024 for drain repairs. The drain cover was hazardous, needing urgent fixing.
Dorset Council fixed the drain. It was in danger of collapsing completely.
