A346 Marlborough Road Closure Update: Traffic Delays Continue

Marlborough experienced bad traffic. It happened the week of February 17th. The A346 closed where Herd Street meets Barn Street. This caused major road problems near St. Martins.

BT Openreach is fixing a manhole. This main road closure caused long traffic lines. Large trucks detoured onto small streets. This created chaos in the town’s roads.

The Wiltshire Council gave an update. Openreach continues work on the A346. The road remains closed for now. They poured concrete with quick hardener. It repairs the manhole chamber.

The concrete needs two days to dry. Resurfacing will begin Thursday. They plan to finish Friday. The A346 will reopen Saturday, February 22nd. But, drivers may face more delays.

The council is improving a crossing. These upgrades use the road closure. The pedestrian crossing work starts February 24th. It should end February 28th. Temporary lights will be there then. They will operate from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM.
