Two cars crashed on the A419. It happened on the Covingham slip road just after 6 PM on Sunday, February 9. Fire engines, ambulances, and police cars went there.

Traffic stopped fast on the A419 as emergency services halted all traffic. Queues extended back to Swindon’s Royal Mail.

A witness said fire engines were present, along with ambulances and many police. Someone was receiving medical attention, it appeared.

Fire crews came from Swindon and Stratton because one person was trapped. They were stuck in their car on the slip road.

The fire service was called at 6:28 PM following reports mentioned a crash on the Merlin Roundabout, A420. Two fire crews went to the scene and found two vehicles involved with two people hurt.

The crews worked with ambulance workers to help free a trapped person. They also secured the area before the fire service finished at 7:24 PM.

The condition of the two people is unknown. Police and ambulance services were asked for details.
