Hey, the A419 will have closures soon. They need to do maintenance and repair work. It’s happening between Swindon and South Marston.

Overnight closures start February 24th and last until February 28th, from 8 PM to 6 AM each night. Both sides of the road will close, affecting the area from White Hart to Turnpike and Lady Lane.

After that, there’s a full weekend closure starting February 28th at 8 PM and ending March 3rd at 5 AM. The closed section is Commonhead to White Hart.

The next weekend, the road shuts again between the junctions. Then, the March 28th weekend brings another closure, impacting Spine Road Junction to Lady Lane Junction.

National Highways tells drivers to plan ahead, stating safety is their top priority during repairs. They understand the closures are annoying and will keep them as short as possible.

Sarah Lewis from National Highways spoke about the work, saying the improvements will help drivers a lot, benefiting the local community too.

The work includes concrete fixes, resurfacing, and replacing parts of the road barrier. Wiltshire Council and Swindon Council helped and agreed on diversion routes that lower impact.

Diversion routes will be clearly marked. The road work may cause some noise, and they planned work times with the least disruption. Details are on the National Highways website.
