Road resurfacing on the A78 will cause disruption with closures and a contraflow system between March 1st and March 8th.

The work affects the southbound side. They will use a contraflow system, and there will also be overnight road closures.
From 8 PM on March 1 to 6 AM on March 3, the A78 closes. This is the southbound section between Eglinton and Warrix. The Eglinton on-slip and Warrix off-slip will also close, and one northbound lane will close in this area, too.
From 6 AM on March 3 to 8 PM on March 7, traffic changes. A contraflow system will be in place then, affecting the A78 southbound between Eglinton and Warrix. The speed limit will be lower.
From 8 PM on March 7 to 6 AM on March 8, another full closure happens. The A78 southbound will close again between Eglinton and Warrix. The Eglinton on-slip and Warrix off-slip roads close, and a northbound lane will also close.
During overnight closures, traffic diverts. A78 drivers will exit at Eglinton Interchange and should join the A737 southbound from there. At Merryvale Roundabout, take the first exit onto the A71 road. You can then rejoin the A78 at Warrix.
If you plan to use the Eglinton on-slip, there is an alternate route. Go onto the B7080, Long Drive, and travel south to the A71. Then, rejoin the A78 at Warrix Interchange.
Emergency vehicles can still use the road, with access open during the work.
