They’re building homes near Rawlence Road. The land belongs to Wiltshire Council, and it’s west of number 24. Woodlands School and the sports club are close.

Martyn Whalley filed a planning application in December, and he works for the council. Planning officers approved it on February 17.

One50 Studio described the site as having a disused parking area. Most of it is hard ground, with grass in the south. The north has an overgrown area.

Barnard’s Folly Reserve is to the west and north, and houses are to the east. Rawlence Road is to the south, so the council will build six affordable homes there, with social rent.

The plans show four one-bedroom flats and two two-bedroom houses. The homes will be made of red brick, and there’s green space in the corner.

The plans include ten parking spots and twelve cycle spaces. Salisbury City Council wasn’t thrilled and actually objected to the plan.

The city council wants swift boxes and bat boxes installed. They think slow worms live there and want them protected as the project goes.

They asked for money for tree care from the Wiltshire council during the session. The city council wants money for the trees.
