Plans submitted for temporary padel courts at Aire Park, managed by Padel Social Club for five years.

Padel Social Club will manage the courts, which are planned to last five years before permanent buildings replace them. The courts will be situated on Meadow Lane, at the former petrol station spot.
Besides the courts, there will be changing rooms and a bar area planned, constructed using shipping containers. Outdoor seating will also be available.
Padel is a mix of tennis and squash. The court is smaller than a tennis court, and players can bounce the ball off walls. People find padel to be fun and sociable, and it’s gaining popularity quickly.
Michael Cronin, Head of Portfolio at Vastint UK, spoke about the plan, stating that Aire Park will focus on health and mentioning the wider South Bank project. He believes padel fits their vision for Aire Park, which includes a park and retail spaces. He wants people to visit and enjoy the new community.
The full planning application is accessible, and people can comment until March 14, 2025.
