It’s National Apprenticeship Week right now. It started February 10 and goes to February 16. The ambulance trust has many apprentices, with over 250 people learning on the job across different fields.

You can find them in cybersecurity, finance, and as paramedic apprentices. Rich Francis leads the apprenticeship program, emphasizing their super importance. They really matter for the ambulance service’s future.

These programs present great chances for individuals to gain skills and experience. Plus, they help patients directly. The paramedic apprenticeship is a different path for people to become qualified paramedics without a university degree.

Apprentices learn to answer emergency calls and give advanced medical attention. Making crucial choices is part of their job. The organization utilizes apprenticeships a lot, starting paramedic apprenticeships in 2021.

Over 305 paramedic apprentices enrolled since then. The plan is to expand even more to 565 paramedic apprentices by 2029 or 2030. Each year, they plan to enroll 120 new apprentices.

The ambulance service encourages people to explore NHS careers and join. The apprenticeship page on their website has more information.
