Amersham leads as most EV-friendly commuter town. Study analyzes charger availability-fast and train station chargers.

Amersham scored an awesome 84 out of 100! Their population is about 15,000 people, and they have 19 different charging spots. That is about 6.3 chargers for every 5,000 people.
Even better, 26 percent of Amersham’s chargers are super quick. The train station also has its own EV chargers. Borehamwood came in second place, earning a score of 78.5.
Sunbury and Sittingbourne followed closely behind. Their scores were 76.8 and 74.9. Watford actually has 109 charging stations total, but it still ranked fifth.
This is because Watford has way more people, around 100,000. Watford has 5.5 chargers for every 5,000 people, so Amersham is still ahead. This really shows the importance of charger distribution.
One director made a point about public charging. Expanding these networks makes EVs easier to use, and more people will switch with greater access. He mentioned UK charge points grew by 49 percent since April.
However, drivers need more help to switch over. Things like education and better deals can help drivers adopt EVs. A good used EV market would help too. Switching to EVs matters!
