Hey, guess what I just read! Ashley Bresnan caught a massive fish. He was fishing at St Johns Lake. It’s part of Linear Fisheries, near Witney in Oxfordshire.

The Linear Fisheries Facebook page has the news. They posted a picture of Ashley. He proudly held his huge catch, which weighed 44 pounds. It was Ashley’s personal best.

Linear Fisheries congratulated Ashley, saying he deserved the catch. He used a solid bag for bait with Hinders Bait pellets inside. He also used a yellow Northern Special wafter made by CC Moore & Co Ltd.

Also, Darren McMahon caught a big chub. Darren is a chef at Radley College. He caught the fish in the River Thames at Sandford Lock in Oxford. The chub weighed six pounds, two ounces.

Darren has fished there since he was thirteen and remembers lots of kids fishing there. He hopes more young people will fish, as being in nature is a great escape. A new personal best makes it even better.
