A man waving a knife from a Lewisham building window prompts a large police response and road closures.

A man was seen waving a knife while topless, leaning from a third-floor window. People filmed the incident and shared the videos online. The man shouted while pointing the knife down.
Lots of armed police are at the scene, hiding behind things and aiming guns at the window. Police are currently talking to the man to determine if he is alone in the building.
The police are calling it a “disturbance” and have closed off the area. This includes HSBC, Barclays, and Subway shops, with ambulances and fire trucks also present just in case they are needed.
Lewisham High Street is closed, resulting in traffic buildup between Lee High Road and Belmont Hill, also blocking Rennell Street (A2211). Traffic extends half a mile down Lee High Road, near Molesworth Street.
Police received a call about a disturbance on Lewisham High Street around 10:45 AM. Police, ambulances, and fire trucks responded to the scene and are negotiating with the man inside a building.
The police also posted on social media, acknowledging the incident in Lewisham High Street. Officers are in communication with the man inside the building and are doing their best right now.
The ambulance service is collaborating with the police and fire crew, present as a precautionary measure. Banks were contacted regarding the situation but have not yet released any statements.
