Joe works at the Westbrook store. He knocked on a house door, but got no answer. He knew an older couple lived there, so he felt worried. Joe called the son, Julian, using the delivery note number. Then a neighbor came and unlocked the front door.

Joe found Thomas at the bottom of the stairs. Thomas seemed shaken, but was awake. Joe called 999 for an ambulance right away. He covered Thomas with a blanket to keep him warm. Joe talked to him, asking if he needed anything.

Paramedics and carers came within ten minutes. Thomas’s wife has Alzheimer’s and couldn’t get up. Joe kept her informed about what was happening. Thomas is now recovering, but he is in and out of the hospital. He is being treated for some cuts and bruises.

Joe is glad Thomas is doing better now. He hopes other people would do the same. He simply did what he felt was the right thing. Thomas’s daughter, Amanda, thanked Joe.

She said that his help that day proved invaluable. Amanda thanked Joe’s manager who allowed him to stay. Thomas’s son, Julian, believes Joe saved his dad’s life. Julian was blown away by Joe’s concern for his parents.

Julian lives over three hours away from his parents’ home. Joe kept Julian updated by phone regularly. His main focus was on his parents’ well-being. Joe stayed until a neighbor could sit with Julian’s mom. Julian can’t thank Joe enough for all that he did.

Joe asked about Thomas after the incident happened. He just wanted peace of mind after everything. Connor Naden nominated Joe for an award. Connor said they are all proud to know Joe.
