Photographer Kate Mead, a finalist in the 2025 Photographer of the Year contest, launches her new studio.

She opened her studio last weekend. It’s called Urban Rush Studio Photography, and it sits above Factory Gym on Crittal Road.
Kate is a finalist in a big contest run by the London Camera Exchange. She’s up for Photographer of the Year 2025. The finals happen March 9 in London, where the winner gets announced.
Kate said reaching the finals is huge, considering thousands enter this contest yearly. She entered a bus photo and loves all types of photography.
Her studio can help people capture memories that can be kept for years. Kate wants to give locals good photos, moving beyond just smartphone pictures.
Urban Rush offers many services, including model portfolios, band artwork, family photos, and product shots. Headshots and on-site photos are also options.
Kate wants her studio to thrive, hoping students can use it later. Opening the studio felt very emotional for her – excited, nervous, happy, and a bit sad.
Her support system helped her dream come true, and she hopes the business grows. Later, she wants to help local schools, offering photography students studio time.
