Chef Tim Zekki is temporarily cooking at The White Hart pub before leaving the UK for a new job.
Tim starts on Wednesday, February 19. He will cook until Sunday, March 2. Then, he is leaving the UK for a new job.
Tim was a semi-finalist in a big chef contest. It was the National Chef of the Year award in 2021. He impressed Paul Ainsworth. Paul is a Michelin-star chef and judge.
Tim made a three-course meal. Tim told his pandemic story with a menu. He was a semi-finalist in 2022, too. He did not win either year.
Gordon Ramsey won the award at age 25. Simon Hulstone, Luke Selby, and Ben Murphy also won. Tim cooked at the pub before. This visit seems like his last before he leaves.
The White Hart said Tim Zekki’s food is returning. Tim owned Zekki’s restaurant nearby. He brings his love of good food back to town. He is starting new work overseas soon.
Zekki’s was first called Duende. It was a pop-up restaurant. It won awards. It got a gold award from Taste of the West. Tim relaunched it as Zekki in April 2024.
