Madni Mosque proposes a double story portacabin. It will feature community spaces for all ages on Merton Street.

This space is intended for people of all ages and backgrounds. Organizers want a flexible area, envisioning uses for many groups, including elderly people and children. Mother and child groups could also use it to support education and a youth club.
The mosque faces a challenge because classes get canceled when someone dies. Muslim funeral rights require quick action. The portacabin offers needed flexibility to keep classes running as normal.
The car park’s southwest corner would house it, taking up seven parking spots. The mosque says it won’t increase traffic or hire more staff, and opening hours will stay the same. They also state that the loss of parking spaces won’t affect users.
Cherwell District Council reviews the plan, which people can view on their website. The last day to comment is February 27, and the planning application is available there.
