Jaypur, a Banbury restaurant, receives a low hygiene rating despite its strong reputation. Cleanliness is a key issue.

One customer said the food was great and they also enjoyed the service. Another person thinks it’s the best Indian food; they have been going there for 35 years.
The restaurant opened in 1990. Environmental Health, who work for Cherwell District Council, visited on January 8. Inspectors gave them a rating of two out of five.
The inspectors said “improvement” was needed, noting cleanliness was a problem and the building’s condition also needed fixing. This affected food hygiene as it currently stands.
They need better layout and ventilation. Hand washing and pest control also need improvement. These things help keep food safe for consumption.
Food safety management was “generally satisfactory,” and staff seemed to know about food safety. They had checks to ensure food is safe. The Oxford Mail tried to contact Jaypur for a comment on the rating.
