The Banbury Road roundabout project in Oxfordshire is delayed due to bad weather, now set to finish on February 28, 2025.

They are removing the old roundabout and putting in a whole new junction bit by bit. Right now, workers are in phase five, which started January 27 and is the very last part.
Initially, the work stayed on time. Now, it looks like it’ll finish ten days late because the weather messed things up a bit. January 2025 had bad weather, meaning some concrete and paving couldn’t happen.
The council spokesperson mentioned the delay, emphasizing the need for good quality work. The project is now set to fully open February 28, 2025, and they are sorry if this causes you problems.
This new setup has lights and paths, which are just for people walking or biking on the west and south sides. The speed limit will be 30 mph in that area.
Why all this work? More than 6,000 new homes are getting built there. The council says the old roundabout would get too busy and wouldn’t be safe to handle the future traffic.
