The Barbridge Inn is set to reopen after renovations, creating 15 jobs after a license approval.

Five people didn’t like the new license at first. They shared their issues during a review period. Tracy Bebbington spoke about past issues, noting there was only one complaint in 2023, about loud music at an outdoor event.
Piers Warne represented Punch Taverns, who now need a new license because the old one expired when the holder died. Punch wants to spend £400,000 on the pub. They hope to create about 15 jobs.
This will be one of their “Fire Side Inns,” a food-focused, community pub. The new managers will live there, and their kids will also live at the pub.
They are committed to improving it, and Punch is happy people want the pub back. Even the concerned residents want it open, though worries arose from the 2023 festival because people thought the hours seemed too late.
Punch adjusted the license hours, listening to local concerns and shortening them a bit. Ultimately, nobody came to the hearing to object, and Cheshire East Council approved the license.
