A person named Scott Douglas posted on social media. He urged people to park in the free car park. This showed how much the car park matters.

A councillor is surveying Court Road multistorey since February 10th. The survey ends in two weeks, including half term. This week counts most for showing car park use. Douglas asks people to park there, not on Wyndam.

People must use the car park to save it. Douglas wants people working at Holton to park there this week. This includes Holton Primary and Holton Road workers.

Locals aim to stop Court Road car park from closing. Nearby traders use it a lot. Holton Road Primary staff parks there too. Staff and patients from the dental practice also use it.

One person said the council would ruin a cheap facility. A primary school staffer spoke about parking. They said many park there due to permit parking near the school. The staffer said some travel over an hour.

Closing the car park could strand them. Surrounding streets might get crowded. Staff would take street parking from residents. Other people agreed Holton school staff use it daily.

The Vale of Glamorgan Council decided to consider closing it. This happened on January 9. The council’s cabinet agreed in principle. On January 29, parking issues were discussed.

Mark Wilson said the car park opened in 1973. Its use has steadily gone downward. The council spent over £88,000 on the car park. Structural issues need fixing too. Upkeep costs would total £214,000.
