Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council are organizing an event with several partners. It happens during Neurodiversity Celebration Week on Tuesday, March 18.

The location is Inclusion EB8’s work hub in Basing View. It runs from 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM. The event is called Future Potential – Your Opportunity, and this is the second event like this.

Speakers include representatives from Anvil Arts, Target Therapies, and The Hygiene Bank. Scratchbuilt Productions will also have a speaker there to discuss inclusive work placements, sharing both employer and student views.

A workshop will occur where people will identify gaps and explore how to be inclusive. It aims to support diverse talent in the workplace.

Cllr Paul Harvey, Leader of the Borough Council, commented on the event, stating that diverse workforces greatly benefit businesses. They can discuss possible obstacles, which helps both employers and workers, emphasizing that diversity benefits business.

Inclusion EB8 hosts the event, and Inclusion Education developed this service to help young people, supporting their mental health, neurodiversity, and learning needs. They provide pathways to jobs, including training and work experience.

Marie Greenhalgh, Director of Innovation at Inclusion EB8, is very happy so many businesses are joining. This workshop builds on feedback from the first session, and they want to support businesses more. They aim to offer placements to students and will work together on solutions. Next June, they will have targeted training to address any identified needs.
