They made health and safety reps vital on site. This protected the project’s many workers. UK projects usually have 2,640 injuries per 100,000 workers. Battersea should have had over 100 serious accidents.

They managed to have zero accidents. Declan Murphy valued the developer’s positive approach. They wanted the same safety values from all its construction firms. Unite wants this to continue during the final phases.

Spencer Barnshaw said members are very proud. They played a huge role in the redevelopment. Unite refurbished the world-famous landmark.
