A 34-story tower may become Battersea’s tallest, near the heliport. It will include apartments, shops and affordable housing.

The tower would go on Lombard Road, near the River Thames. It may have 147 apartments inside and shops could be on the first floor. An empty office building would be removed, along with two garages.
In 2014, a plan for a 15-floor tower existed, but it had no affordable housing. That plan never happened. This new plan has a taller tower and allows space for lower-cost housing.
The developer asked Wandsworth council about an environment review in November. They want to know if they need a report before the real planning application.
The developer has a site with details now and wants the public’s opinion. They continue working on the plans, and the website has a contact form for people to ask questions.
The developer wants nicer buildings and to replace ugly buildings. They said the new building would be well-designed and amazing, and that the area would improve. The path by the river would become easier to use.
The developer talked about the housing, stating that affordable housing helps local, regional, and national goals a lot. About 35 percent of it would be affordable.
The developers aim for great design and want to make the area better. The building will have low carbon emissions, helping show great design. More details on the plans are coming soon.
