Community plants 22 fruit trees at Long Grove in Baughurst on February 8 revitalizing the area with nature and hope.

Kevin Elkins, a local, led the planting. It all happened on Saturday, February 8th. They planted twenty-two fruit trees. These trees included apple, plum, and pear types.
The Hampshire Forest Partnership gave them two hundred fifty hedgerow plants. Each tree got a stake and a label. They will add signs and tree guards.
Benches are also planned for the orchard. More plants will bring even more nature. People can relax and learn there. That is the big hope.
The kids really helped that day. They planted things with excitement. Children made bug hotels too. These hotels will attract helpful bugs. Anne Ayres was really happy. She saw the kids enjoying the project.
The Baughurst Society thought of the orchard. The Baughurst Parish Council helped make it real.
