BCP Playgrounds to Benefit from Major Investment for Improvements

Lots of playgrounds will get fixed up. They’re planning improvements to over 100 areas. Littledown will get a new seesaw. Southbourne will get a new goal. Christchurch will get fixed swings.

This money should make playgrounds better. These spaces will hopefully come back to life.

The council is using part of a play plan. They will spend about £435,000 on repairs.

Tom Hayes is a local MP. He pushed for playground improvements. He talked about it in January 2025. The talk focused on councils keeping up playgrounds.

Hayes mentioned Bournemouth playgrounds needed help. He said kids were missing out because of it. He wants the money spent fast and well. People should see changes soon.

The council created the play plan in December 2024. It shows they care about kids’ health. Councillor Moore is in charge of the play plan. She is happy about the playground money.

She thinks good playgrounds help kids grow. Playgrounds let kids socialize. They also improve kids’ health.

This project covers many towns. The council wants everyone to have chances.

Seventeen playgrounds will have big changes. The money comes from developers. They pay a fee that goes back into the community. Crews will do repairs for two years. They will use their own staff and other companies.
