West Suffolk Council approves Bellota’s bid for later hours on Churchgate Street. Noise concerns were addressed.

The place used to be Ben’s restaurant. Now, it will be called Bellota. LHK Venturs Ltd owns Bellota. They wanted to extend their hours.
They can sell alcohol from 9 AM to 11 PM. This applies every day of the week. Bellota can open at 8 AM and close at 11:30 PM daily.
Someone on Churchgate Street didn’t like the idea. They worried about noise. They said the windows cannot be soundproofed because of its architecture style.
However, officials said the building isn’t officially listed.
It’s in Bury’s Conservation area though. Bellota will be run by Ruben Aguilar Bel and Gabriella Fogarasi. Other nearby places close around the same time. These include other restaurants and pubs.
Planners think this is a good addition. The new hours seemed fair to them. The longer hours will give the new restaurant flexibility. The council approved the request with rules.
They must follow the plans and the opening hours stated. Bellota plans to open in early spring.
