Berkshire scouts completed the Southern 50, a challenging 30km hike across four counties, showing teamwork and determination.

The Southern 50 is a long UK hike that examines orienteering skills. Teamwork is very important. The route is secret until the day, ensuring fair competition. Each team can try to win a prize.
Dwayne Fields, the Chief Scout, admired the Berkshire team. He noted their strong teamwork and clear determination.
Dwayne said the team from West Pang Explorer Scout Unit finished a 30km course. He enjoyed hearing what they learned while overcoming tough challenges. Scouts are a great group, and events showcase brilliant, young people and volunteers.
They show what is good as people worked together as a unit. They had fun, gaining many new skills.
Juliette, fourteen, participated in the event. She said the hike was hard. The Southern 50 was a big challenge being a long hike. Juliette said she did it anyway.
Her team took a long route, adding extra kilometers. Scout skills helped them progress and finish the challenging hike.
Scouts are a worldwide youth movement that began August 1, 1907. The Scout Association helps UK Scouts, supporting 7,000 Scout Groups.
These groups help 475,000 young people, ages 6 to 25. Over 638,000 people are active and involved in UK Scouts.
