Ofsted checked Bexley’s children services. The visit happened February 13 and 14. Inspectors looked at services for vulnerable children, including kids needing protection and homeless youth. They also checked support for exploited young people.

Inspectors noted “strong leadership” and saw “effective partnerships” between agencies. The workforce was “highly skilled,” and staff provided consistent and responsive care. Bexley has an “impressive” system to manage performance; leaders clearly understand the service impact.

A council member, Chris Taylor, spoke about the teams, saying they work hard and are very dedicated. He believes they improve lives for young people. The report showcases their unwavering commitment and strengths.

The report cited some areas needing work. Responses should be faster for kids with repeat plans, and documentation should be consistent. It should address young people’s rights and entitlements. Visit Bexley’s website to read the full report.
