New 66-bed care home proposed within Graven Hill but faces objections from housing company and flood authority.

The care home would be north of Anniversary Avenue, within the Graven Hill development. Graven Hill is still under construction, with plans including 2,100 homes, employment sites, and services.
Graven Hill Village Development Company, in charge of the housing development, isn’t happy. They say the care home blocks 190 houses. Those houses need the care home site for green space.
The flood authority also has worries and is concerned about surface water drainage. Bicester Bike Users Group commented, thinking the area relies too much on cars, making walking or biking difficult.
Bicester Town Council and the Environment Agency didn’t object to the care home. Oxfordshire County Council highways agreed with conditions. Thames Water also agreed with some conditions.
Cherwell District Council will decide soon. Their planning committee meets next Thursday. The site used to have Rodney House, which they tore down in 2016.
