Bideford marks its French town link with a special Breton-themed event, seeking more community involvement.

Bideford Twinning Association is hosting an event on Saturday, February 22, at Bideford Library. The event aims to encourage more people to join in the celebration of the twinning.
They call it “Café Breton,” and it will take place from 10:30 a.m. to noon in the Juniper Room. Attendees can enjoy Breton snacks and music. Additionally, information about past events will be shared.
Carol Bertie, the chair, spoke about the ties that have connected Bideford and Landivisiau. Over the years, these ties have built bridges between people through visits and special events.
With the 50th anniversary approaching, they are hoping for greater public participation. Brittany’s culture and way of life are open for exploration, with opportunities to visit the region and experience French food, wine, and cider. Ultimately, making friends is the most rewarding aspect.
The event is free of charge and open to everyone from Bideford. For more information, contact Ray Auvray at 01237 421420 or via email at rayauvray@icloud.com.
