Hey, listen to this about Bideford. A woman named Sarah B. is upset about Clovelly Road; construction there is making the road dangerous.

She told a newspaper about it, saying she got a flat tire last month. A bolt went right through her car’s wheel, and it cost her £200 to fix.

Bovis Homes and Persimmon Homes are building houses there. Sarah told Devon Highways about the problem, as they knew about issues from the building. Highways told her to contact the builders.

The newspaper asked Persimmon and Bovis for comments. Bovis Homes, part of the Vistry Group, said it is a busy road, but they do not think they caused the damage.

Persimmon said they are responsible builders and try to keep materials off the road. Other builders are working there too, and they will stay careful while building homes.

Sarah emailed both builders with details including costs, photos, and Highways’ response. The road was muddy again a week later, and the white lines were hard to see.

Mud goes onto the A39 and into the building sites, which she says is very slippery. Sarah thinks an accident will happen soon and is tired of the builders not taking blame.

She is worried about Clovelly Road’s condition, as she drives that road almost every day. Sarah reports road debris to Highways, but she thinks they will do nothing until someone crashes.
