A biker had an accident on the Camster road. This road was noted as dangerous last year. Denver Bruce, 24, crashed his motorbike on Wednesday afternoon. He was on the C1029 road. He hit a big pothole.

Another biker was with Denver. The crash put Denver in the hospital, where he broke several bones. People had marked potholes with yellow paint, which is how the council indicates potholes that need fixing.

His fiancee, Cobi Bruce, spoke about the crash, saying he broke his ankle, knee, and finger. He drives carefully, and this was his first accident, which happened at 1:11 pm.

Denver was taken to the hospital with neck support. Cobi was home with their young kids. Byron Edwards, Denver’s friend, called the ambulance. Cobi was very upset by the news.

Doctors checked his knee and foot and took many X-rays. He might need to go to another hospital because his knee was very swollen. Road rash covered his skin, and he felt intense pain and received morphine.

Broken parts were scattered at the site and his helmet was smashed badly after the impact. His clothes were ruined during the accident.

Cobi said Denver wore proper gear and tried to avoid a pothole. Then, he hit another pothole nearby and flew off the bike, rolling about 20 times.

Cobi said Denver is always careful and never speeds on the road. Pictures show yellow paint around potholes, which is how council workers often mark them.

Cobi measured the potholes later and council workers were making repairs. The council worker said it was very deep and likely to happen again.

A woman told Cobi she also hit that pothole months ago, after which she reported it to the council. The pothole had yellow paint then too.

The same road area was bad last year, with a large, deep pothole. Peter Darmady had mentioned the issue, noting that drainage seemed to be a large problem.

Peter Darmady wants the road resurfaced, as modern asphalt does not drain well, causing water to get trapped in the hole. He suggested draining the hole into a ditch.

The council has not made a statement, despite people contacting them about the road and showing them pictures of the potholes. Highland Council was contacted.
