A 19-year-old from Bingham is jailed after brandishing a machete at Lady Bay retail park during a dispute.
Neil got angry because of the driver’s aggressive driving, and he pulled out a machete-style knife. Then, he chased the car as people watched it all unfold.
Thankfully, nobody was hurt. Police found and arrested Neil quickly because he’s 19 years old. He pulled the knife from his trouser leg and swung it toward the car, too.
Neil admitted affray and knife possession. He also had Class A drugs, and police found cocaine when he was arrested.
On February 26th, he appeared in court and the court sentenced him to three years, three months. He will be in a young offenders’ institution.
A police detective said it was a shocking act that played out in front of the public. They started a quick investigation. Neil was already known to them and was soon a suspect.
The detective hopes he reflects in custody and wants him to reassess his life. Carrying a knife made it much worse. Seriously, things could have been far worse.
