New bakery Black Wheat Club, founded by Tomasz and Marta, opens in Fossgate, York. Sells baked goods, brunch to go, and will open a wine bar.

The opening was on Thursday, February 20. People lined up to get in! Tomasz said they felt so happy. So many people came by to say hello.
The Press wrote about Black Wheat Club before. They started planning it back in October 2024. Tomasz said it took a long time to happen. He said it feels amazing. They worked on it for so long.
They did not want to say too much at first. They wanted it to grow naturally. Now, they’ve made it what they wanted. They sell baked goods and brunch.
Tomasz said they will add more food and drinks later. They are still making changes. Tomasz wants the Club to feel like home. He said the place is all about the food. They want people to feel that too.
Right now, they are a bakery and brunch spot. You can also grab food to go. They sell focaccias, pastries, and sandwiches. Soon, they will open a wine bar at night. They will also serve small plates.
Tomasz and Marta hired about fifteen new people. Tomasz said everyone did a great job that day. He told me many were doing this for the first time. Businesses on Fossgate welcomed them warmly.
