Lots of trash ended up in a Mill Hill alley. The alley is near Stancliffe Street and Hollin Bridge Street. People dumped old shoes, bin bags, and carpets. Nappies and a rolled-up mattress also appeared.

A TikTok account showed the mess. The channel is called Skankashire Life. Someone filmed the dumped rubbish in the alley. The video called it a “Blackburn back alley.” Another video showed uncollected bin bags on Dickinson Close.

Residents previously complained about bins there. A councillor spoke about similar spots. The councillor praised people’s town pride. Cleaning the alley is residents’ duty, said the council.

The land isn’t council-owned. Tony Watson is the head of environment. He knows about the fly-tipping hotspot. The council can help residents clean up.

They can give equipment and remove waste. Contact them at cleansing@blackburn.gov.uk if interested. Fly-tipping is illegal, the council stated clearly. They gave £13,440 in fines recently.

Fixed penalty notices totaled £4,000 in ten months. Report fly-tipping to envirocrime@blackburn.gov.uk confidentially. The council is talking to Together Housing now. This addresses the bins at Dickinson Close.

They will update residents with a solution soon. Councillor Shaukat Hussain discussed littering issues. He said the council works to stop it. Hussain praised those who keep areas clean.

Some people, he said, do let everyone down. The council can provide bags and gloves. This is to help residents in unadopted areas. Residents can contact the council for them. People do this cleaning in many spots.
