Gladman Developments wants to build in Blashford. The land is now used for horses and farming. They want to tear down old buildings, then plan to build 140 homes there, and include open space and landscaping.

The application includes affordable housing, drainage systems, and access roads. Gladman tried a similar plan before, wanting 143 homes in 2021. That plan got rejected, so they reduced the number.

The new site is near Ringwood and has market housing of different sizes. There are 22 two-bedroom homes, 18 three-bedroom homes, and 30 homes planned with four or more bedrooms.

Half of the homes will be “affordable” to address housing cost problems. This Snails Lane plan helps a lot with flats and houses, specifically, there are 36 two-bedroom homes planned. Twenty three-bedroom homes are also in the works.

Additionally, four homes have four or more bedrooms, and ten one-bedroom flats complete this part. The goal is to help locals stay in the area because house prices went up a lot.

From 2016 to 2023, prices rose 38%, jumping from £290,000 to £400,000. Salisbury Road will act as the development’s access point.

All flats will have outdoor space, with a boardwalk planned for recreation. They will improve the Salisbury Road access, and new footpaths should increase accessibility.

The plans emphasize using sustainable materials, for example, furniture comes from managed sources. Gladman wants building methods to be sustainable to reduce harm to the environment.

They aim to use resources wisely, believing this benefits everyone, including future people living there. Assessments show no major traffic issues, so the A338 not should see big changes.
