The T&A started a Best Hairdresser contest for 2025. Readers can nominate their favorite hairdresser, and they narrowed it down to ten nominees. Now, they are sharing info about each one.

Blush 22 is hoping to win this title. They are located on High Street in Idle, and Lauren Fearnley owns Blush 22.

The salon opened in February 2020, right before the first lockdown. Lauren feels very proud of her salon, and thinks her grandparents would be proud, as they grew up in Idle.

They often visited the local working men’s club near her salon, and opening her salon there feels like fate to her; it reminds her of them.

Working at Blush 22 is Lauren’s dream job. Her team has ten people, including herself. They have four hair stylists, two nail technicians, three beauty therapists, and one person who does aesthetics.

They offer many services, including hair, beauty, and aesthetics. Blush 22 continually improves the salon, and has renovated it three times in five years. They want clients to have a great salon experience and plan to offer cocktails during appointments; they are getting a license for that.

Lauren says Blush 22 stands out because they are friendly neighbors. They wave and smile at other businesses and help local charities. Blush 22 donates gift vouchers to schools and provides work experience to students, leading many to become apprentices; they have two apprentices currently.

Want to support your favorite hairdresser? You can vote for that person to win. Fill out the form in the T&A newspaper; the voting deadline is March 1.
