After a five-day search, police found a body in Teesdale. It is believed to be missing runner Jenny Hall.
Jenny Hall, 23, disappeared last Tuesday. She left her home in Tow Law around 3 PM. She wore a blue John Deere hoodie and dark jogging bottoms. Her family reported her missing that night.
Her red Ford Focus was found Wednesday. It was parked on the B6278 road, between Eggleston and Stanhope.
Police found the body Sunday morning in a remote area in Teesdale. They have not formally identified the body yet, but the police do not suspect anything suspicious. They will prepare a coroner’s report.
Hall’s family is aware and getting support. The family asks for privacy now, as it is a devastating time for them.
A large search happened after Hall vanished, including drones and rescue teams. They were looking for Jenny after she disappeared on Tuesday.
A police chief said they were very worried, and explored all clues received from the public. Hall enjoyed long-distance running, often running in Hamsterley Forest.
The police searched Hall’s usual route between Eggleston and Hamsterley. Police officers searched over 100 miles of track. They also checked her phone and apps, but sadly found nothing useful.
Saturday, drones and dogs joined the search with over sixty volunteers. Durham Police thanked the rescue teams, who worked hard to find the body.
