Jenny, a neighbor, called Pepita “wonderful.” She described her as being from Spain, and Pepita loved gardening and organized outings, including trips to the pub and a Spanish night. Jenny said Pepita lived there with her son.
Pepita’s life was marked by sadness with another son’s death. Jenny last saw her before Christmas and she noticed Pepita had lost much weight. The police interviewed neighbors about her, and Jenny hopes they solve the mystery.
Neighbors left flowers outside Pepita’s house. One neighbor said she always said hello and that she was important to their community. The neighbor thinks she took medication, adding to the mystery surrounding her death.
The police smashed down her door and removed her body later. Her body was there for a very long time. Police want to find a taxi driver who may have video of her with building materials.
The taxi driver drove her home in August 2024. She struggled with plywood and supplies, and police think he worried about her and might have recorded her on his phone. They ask for any footage of her.
Police want footage from October 16 to January 31. A man, age 40, faces a charge of preventing a lawful burial and he lived on Reynardson Road. The investigation is still ongoing.
