A Bolton man was fined after possessing cannabis resin at the Wrexham Police Station during a search.

He admitted to a crime that occurred on March 29, 2023. Thompson had cannabis resin in his possession at Wrexham Police Station. He is 34 years old.
Rachel Drew prosecuted the case. She stated that Thompson went to the station because prison had recalled him. This occurred around 5 PM.
Officers took him to a private place for a careful search. They found hidden wraps containing an illegal substance in his jacket lining.
Ms. Drew questioned the long delay in bringing the charge. The court acknowledged and understood the delays in the case.
The court was asked to be understanding, considering Thompson’s efforts to improve his life and start fresh. Although his record is not good, he is showing progress.
The growing time between his crimes indicates a positive change. He is finally leaving crime behind, leading to a request for a light sentence.
The court ultimately fined Thompson eighty pounds. He must also pay a victim surcharge of thirty-two pounds and cover eighty-five pounds in costs.
