A man who stole almost £2,000 from a Boots store is jailed & banned from City of London after a series of thefts.

Victor received a ten-week prison sentence for five theft charges. He was also given a five-year ban, preventing him from entering that part of London. He currently has no permanent address.
He targeted a Boots store on Cheapside in late 2024 and early 2025. He stole a total of £1,835 from that store. Security cameras captured him heading straight to specific aisles where he quickly grabbed items off the shelves.
He typically chose expensive items, including razors and face creams. The 32-year-old then quickly exited the shop. Police were able to identify him based on his distinctive hand tattoo.
Victor was apprehended by police in the City and sentenced this week in court. Police emphasized the importance of prosecuting shoplifters, highlighting that retail theft harms businesses and individuals, and is not a victimless crime. They noted that Victor brazenly stole items, causing distress to staff in the store.
Police have pledged to assist retailers in reporting crime. City surveillance cameras play a crucial role in catching criminals like Victor.
