Booze Bin on Brudenell Grove wants to open 24/7, sparking objections from residents, councilors, and police over noise and safety.

Some people aren’t happy about it at all. Ward councilors and MP Alex Sobel object, along with people who live nearby. Leeds City Council and the police agree with them. They have worries about the change.
One objector wrote a letter stating it could attract nighttime drinkers. This person believes it’s not right for the area and mentioned possible noise and cars. Councillors Hannan and Pryor objected as well.
Tim Goodall from the Green Party also objected because they fear more anti-social behavior and noise problems. Plus, there’s concern for public safety in the area.
The shop says they have CCTV cameras. They will tell the police about any crimes and claim they’ll keep things safe inside and outside. This concerns both staff and residents.
Police say there are already complaints about drink-related issues in that area. Residents are already very upset by the current noise, drinking, and anti-social behavior.
Reports state the area has rules about drinking. The council thinks there are too many places that sell alcohol. A committee will discuss the shop’s request and the hearing is next Tuesday, February 18.
