Study reveals Bournemouth is tenth most punctual station in UK, analyzing delays across major routes.
The study used train data from July to December 2024. They made a “Commuter Delays Calculator.” It used data from 660 routes and 50 stations. They ranked each station by journey reliability.
Stations with big delays got lower scores. Arriving close to schedule earned higher scores. They added up percentages for each station. This totaled a score out of 300.
The highest score meant the most reliable station. Bournemouth was the tenth most reliable station. Two percent of their trains got canceled. Ten percent arrived over five minutes late.
The average delay there was just over two minutes. Bournemouth got an index score of 205.94 out of 300. Barking in London was the most reliable overall.
Chelmsford and London Fenchurch Street followed closely behind it in reliability rankings. London Kings Cross was the study’s least reliable station. Manchester Piccadilly and Liverpool Lime Street ranked second and third from last place.
