New Dorset police drug disposal process in Bournemouth raises concerns. Anonymous source cites security risks, fake IDs.

Now, Dorset police want bars to drop drugs off at the Bournemouth station on Madeira Road. Someone told the Echo this new system has flaws and wanted to stay anonymous.
They asked, “What if dealers know when drugs travel? What if they learn what car carries them to Madeira Road? This creates safety problems,” they said. Huge issues could arise.
Also, what if police stop the car? The driver might have a police card that allows drug transport to the station. But, someone could easily fake that card.
The source thinks the policy change is problematic and asked Dorset police to rethink it. They called the new approach “crazy.”
A police spokesperson responded to these concerns, stating they work with bars on several procedures, including getting lost items and seized items. They made recent changes to the process, talking with bar owners in Bournemouth. All parties then agreed.
