A 16-year-old boy was caught in Warrington after a motorbike joyride and police chase. He pleaded guilty in court.

Police caught the boy after a brief chase in Sankey Valley Park. He’s from St Helens, apparently. They found the motorbike nearby. The engine and battery were damaged and it wasn’t in good shape at all.
The boy pleaded guilty in Warrington Magistrates Court. He can’t be named because of his age. It’s the law, you know? Craig Welsby prosecuted the case. He said the boy had other driving offenses and two prior convictions for those offenses.
Paul Green defended the young offender. He mentioned the boy wants to study mechanics but isn’t in college now. Green hopes he can channel his interest positively and use it well. The boy apologized in court for everything and said he’s not going to do it ever again.
The magistrates said it was a silly act and encouraged college for him. He needs to focus on his motorbike interest there. The court gave him a referral order that lasts six months. He can’t drive for a year either and must pay the victim £100.
